Find manure by advertising on Craig’s list or asking around; be sure to check what the animals are eating and verify that you are satisfied with those vaccinations, antibiotics, etc. for your soil. Remember, you want living soil and adding chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, GMO elements into the soil may or may not be what you are looking for. Also keep in mind that many use straw and hay mixed with the manure; you may need to allow the composting process to complete before using the blend of carbon material and manure or risk a nitrogen deficiency in plants where applied. I have been experimenting with adding nitrogen sources to this material as finding pure manure has proven difficult in this region so far.

Local Gardening Supplies:
Food and Thought – I often find great prices on herbs, flowers, fertilizers, potting soil, and soil amendments. They tend to carry the special amendments I use like Espoma Soil Acidifier (elemental sulfur) and Rock phosphate. I work here part time, usually Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Superior Stone Distributors – I buy lava rock (slow release minerals) and planting soil from this company.
Driftwood Garden Center – Often more pricey than ordering online, even with shipping but if I need something right away or I’m looking for a unique plant, this company is one of the resources I use.
GreenThumb Hydroponics – Don’t be discouraged by the name, this company carries soil gardening organic materials often cheaper than what I can find in Naples so if I’m near there, I shop for organic soil amendments at this store.
MW Horticulture – I have used a variety of compost and mulch from many local resources. All of them have their good and not so good qualities and so far, this company is what I’m going with. If you can make your own compost and use the leaves and chippings from your property, it’s always better but there’s no way I can make the volume that I use at this time without outsourcing some of it. MW Horticulture also offers a variety of classes on gardening subjects.
Online Gardening Supplies:
Earthworm Castings (also local but prices tend to be higher, MW Horticulture in Ft Myers is cheapest so far)
Local Stores mostly carry Botanical Interests Organic Seeds: Food and Thought Garden Center and Driftwood Nursery

Historically, essential oils have played a prominent role in everyday life. With more than 200 references to aromatics, incense, and ointments, essential oils are said to be used for anointing and healing the sick. I always say, “Heal Thyself” and using essential oil in my every day life for many years has proven to me that they work! I use them in combinations with diet, exercise, and healthy living for aromatherapy, massage therapy, pet health care, my personal healthcare, personal care, cooking, nutritional supplements, and household solutions!
